The British Museum
Bill writes: On May 30, we went to the British Museum for a lecture on Medieval archeology.

After that, we went to the museum cafe for the usual tea and whatnot, and then more poking around the museum.
Since Aline and I went our separate ways there, and I got the camera, you can only see some of my favorite items:
A box of shabtis (they are ancient Egyptian figurines that function as servants in the afterlife). I like them because the little buggers figured heavily in my grad thesis:

And the Lycergus cup, which changes color depending on the angle you view it at:



My favorite place in the British Museum has got to be the Reading Room. If I had to spend the rest of my life locked away in one room, I think this would be it:

By the way, that's Aline on the right with her back to us. A front view would show her mouth hanging open.
