The Lovely Kew Gardens

Aline writes: Kew Gardens is always a lovely place to spend some time, even when it is just an excuse to escape the London heat by taking a boat!

Bill and I spent a few hours at the gardens. We visited the rose garden, which was in full bloom

The waterlily house:

We found a lovely walled garden with borders in full bloom

There was Chiluly exhibit at Kew, with some of his glass installations, such as this nice one in the water in front of the Palm House

and notice the beautiful sculptures framing the Palm House

Bill took some beautiful pictures of the flowers

And of course we had to stop for tea and cake. Then back to London. It only took about 75 minutes to get back, as the tide had come in.

It was much warmer in London when we got back, so we were glad to have spent the day on the river!
