Southwark Cathedral and the Clink Museum
Bill writes: On July 3, Aline was home with a bit of a cold, so I went to see the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Southwark Cathedral, where I stayed and listened to their choir perform Handel's "Hallelujiah Chorus."

As I left there, I happened on a remaining wall of Winchester Palace nearby. This was the place where the bishops of Winchester resided from around 1150 to 1650.

As these were all in the same neighborhood, afterwards, I stopped by and toured the Clink Museum. It was the prison from which we get the phrase "in the clink."

The rooms had nasty recreations of what went on in there. Best that you don't ask.

Finally, to round it off, I stopped by Regent's Park on the way home at took in a jazz concert at a bandstand by the river.
